This past Friday I had the honor of capturing two beautiful souls, Saxony and John, on their most important day. I work with Saxony at the Veterans Home and was beyond thrilled for her when she announced her engagement after a weekend trip to Chicago some time ago. I was double thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding. I think I shouted something along the lines of "Are you fricking kidding me?!?! Of course I will!!!" and we hugged and jumped up and down with excitement overload.
I get to see Saxony making a daily impact on our Veterans' lives everyday not only with her knowledge in therapy and her "magic hands," but by her positive, kind, sweet, loving, genuine and bright soul. They are blessed to have her and we are blessed to know her. She is one of those that radiates light and makes it so dang contagious to be just as bright and smiley as she is. I love it, and I love her!
I met John on the day of the ceremony, which by the way, their ceremony takes the cake for best comedy and unexpected twists (improv skit had me smiling the entire time and I couldn't help but bust out laughing at how sweet it was that they managed to get their dogs to the venue; oversized cut-outs of their pups welcomed guests to their ceremony-see image below!). So nontraditional and I couldn't appreciate that more.
From what I know of John, he has a great sense of humor and adores Saxony (so really, what else do I need to know about him?!).
I look forward to getting to know them moving forward as The Beals, and I wish them the most beautiful life together filled with laughter and love.
Here are a few shots that tug at my heart and will make you go "awwww."
